My mom is patriotic!

As a matter of fact, our whole family is!

My mom was born in a farmhouse but I was born in a hospital.

Where were you born?

Mom had a family.

Besides her parents she had two sisters and a brother.

I just have a brother.

Do you have any brothers or sisters?

My mom went to school.

Just like you and me.

She even went to college.

Did yours?

A long time ago Mom’s grandfather—

my great-grandfather—

joined the Army.

Did yours?

He learned to ride a horse

and fire a cannon.

What did yours do?

Then he got on a big boat with his Army buddies.

They went to France, a country in Europe.

Once they arrived there they fought in World War I.

Where did yours go?
